Istanbul Airport uses the code IST, while Sabiha Gokcen International Airport uses SAW. The code should appear in the reservation, not only the phrase “Istanbul airport”. The airports are separate facilities in different parts of the metropolitan area, and the route to a hotel or meeting may change substantially depending on which airport is used.
A complete luxury car airport transfer request should include the airline, flight number, scheduled date, local arrival time, passenger name, mobile contact, destination, passenger count, luggage count and requested vehicle. The flight number allows the operator to identify the actual service even when the arrival time changes. International and domestic arrivals should also be distinguished where relevant to the meeting instructions.
Premium Drive Chauffeurs states that its VIP airport transfer service covers both IST and SAW. Its dedicated Istanbul Airport page identifies routes to hotels, the city centre, Sultanahmet, Taksim, Nisantasi, Bosphorus hotels, Galataport and business locations. Sabiha Gokcen’s official passenger guide separately provides airport transportation information for SAW users.
The airport choice should also inform the rest of the itinerary. A traveller landing at SAW and attending a meeting on the Anatolian side may have a very different plan from a passenger landing at IST and staying near the historic peninsula. Cross-city travel should be allowed sufficient time, particularly when a bridge crossing is involved.
